HISTORY OF THE PACKARD 1603 SUPER EIGHT
Packard introduced their 16th series of automobiles on September 30th, 1937. By 1938, Packard was still the leader of the small independent manufacturers, due in part to its popular mid-range cars (the Packard Six and the Packard “Small” Eight). In 1938 the Senior Packards consisted of the Twelve and the Super Eight, both of which saw styling improvements including a vee-shaped windshield, increasingly rounded fenders and an all-around smoother profile. A new instrument panel allowed for full instrumentation and built in defrosters on the interior. The Packard Super Eight rode on a shorter chassis with a 127” wheelbase which redistributed the weight of the car. This coupled with new steering geometry and the larger 320ci engine made the 16th series Super Eight one of the most maneuverable Senior Packard’s ever constructed. Most Senior models for 1938 were built to order, as their high price tag made them available to only the most affluent of clientele. One of the most striking factory offerings was the Super Eight Touring Sedan (body style 1103) for five passengers which offered luxury, comfort and style, especially when equipped with dual side mount spare tires. Only 2,478 Super Eight chassis were constructed for 1938, however their appeal remains high in collector car circles today.

    Financing

Finance rates as low as 8.9%.

We know that classic car financing can pose a unique challenge. Although a vintage or exotic car can be an excellent investment, some financial institutions attempt to apply standard “used car” rules for financing a classic car, which in many cases can make loan approval difficult.

We work closely with many banking institutions that understand and recognize the collector value of classic cars and view them as an investment, which allows us to help you get the financing you need so that you can have the car you have dreamed of.

Terms available up to 144 Months
