In the late 1980’s, this Caribbean was under the ownership respected collector Gene Epstein in Pennsylvania. In 1990 it was acquired by New York Times Best Selling Author and car collector Clive Cussler. A notable action adventure author, several of Mr. Cussler’s books have been adapted to the silver screen. Additionally, Mr. Cussler has published a couple of books about his collection. This stunning Packard appeared in his 2016 book “Built to Thrill”, a copy of which accompanies this Packard. History of the 1955 Packard Caribbean
In 1955 Packard took its flagship model, the Caribbean, to new heights. A completely new design by Richard Teague succeeded in making the car look modern. Packard’s first series of V8 engines were now standard on all models, with the most powerful being the 352ci V8 equipped with “dual-quad” Rochester carburetors. This combination produced 275 horsepower and was only offered in the Caribbean. Underneath the new “modern” body was Packard’s unique torsion bar suspension which was a standard feature and made the model one of the best riding cars of 1955. Costing $5,932 when new, the equivalent of roughly $57,000 today, the Caribbean Convertible (style number 5588) was Packard’s most expensive offering for 1955. The combination of style, performance, ride quality and low production numbers (only 500 examples were produced for 1955) makes examples highly sought after by collectors today.

    Financing

Finance rates as low as 8.9%.

We know that classic car financing can pose a unique challenge. Although a vintage or exotic car can be an excellent investment, some financial institutions attempt to apply standard “used car” rules for financing a classic car, which in many cases can make loan approval difficult.

We work closely with many banking institutions that understand and recognize the collector value of classic cars and view them as an investment, which allows us to help you get the financing you need so that you can have the car you have dreamed of.

Terms available up to 144 Months
