HISTORY OF THE 1961 MORRIS MINOR TRAVELER: 37 bhp, 948 cc four-cylinder engine, four-speed manual transmission, independent front suspension, leaf rear springs, drum brakes. Wheelbase: 86″ The Nuffield Organization, who built Morris cars, was one of the leading car manufacturers in Britain following the Second World War. In 1948 it introduced its first new era model known as the Morris Minor. In many way, the Minor would prove to be the English equivalent of the German Volkswagen Beetle with over 1.5 million built by the time production ceased in 1971. The Minor was a marvelous design by Alec Issigonis who would go on to create the legendary Mini. The Nuffield Organization and Austin merged in 1952 which resulted in more minor styling changes, a one piece windscreen and an Austin 948 cc engine being fitted in the Minor in 1956. The slightly larger engine pushed the top speed of the Minor from 62 mph to 73 mph. The additional power was appreciated as the Minor, with its independent front suspension and rack and pinion steering, was known for its direct handling. All told, the combination was certainly very enjoyable and made for a very sprightly automobile. The Minor’s styling remained basically unchanged from 1953. Along the way various body styles were offered in the form of two and four-door sedans, a convertible, a van, a pickup truck and a very stylish “woody” station wagon or “estate” known as the “Traveller.” The Traveller model was offered from 1954 to 1971. This 1960 Morris Minor Traveller is surely one of the finest extant. It has been completely dismantled and restored to the highest concours levels. The striking deep black paint, beautifully finished wood, a new black vinyl top and fresh gleaming chrome accentuate the new red vinyl seats, panels and carpeting. All the colors and patterns matched the original specifications. All the instrumentation was cleaned, rebuilt and set into a newly painted dash. Under the hood the completely rebuilt four-cylinder engine has been fully detailed as has the chassis.

Financing

Finance rates as low as 8.9%.

We know that classic car financing can pose a unique challenge. Although a vintage or exotic car can be an excellent investment, some financial institutions attempt to apply standard “used car” rules for financing a classic car, which in many cases can make loan approval difficult.

We work closely with many banking institutions that understand and recognize the collector value of classic cars and view them as an investment, which allows us to help you get the financing you need so that you can have the car you have dreamed of.
